My wife and I are going on a weeks sailing trip in Croatia in August, which starts in Split. We are planning to spend 3 or 4 days in one of the neighbouring countries prior to the trip. Can you recommend which country to visit?
I would recommend a few days in Dubrovnik or its neighbour Cavtat, the lakes in Slovenia or possibly even Venice where it is possible to take a ferry from there across to Croatia (though this last may be a problem with flights, going into Italy and out of Croatia).
