I'm in the early stages of planning my Honeymoon and was hoping you could offer some recommendations. I'm looking at a fortnight in May 2009 (Leaving on the 4th). We are on a limited budget and would like to simply relax somewhere warm and quiet (although not deserted).

It largely depends on how warm you are looking for but in early May short to mid-haul we would recommend Cyprus, Greece or Turkey although it is a great time to visit much of the Mediterranean. The Caribbean would still be an option but is heading into low season with most destinations being wettest from May to October. Mauritius would be another possibility.   As I mentioned it depends a lot on budget and climate requirements.  If you would like to get in touch to discuss these in more details please call  01491 833227 and speak to Andrew or Kate, alternatively please email honeymoons@fullcircletravel.com. A Taste of West Africa - The Gambia – an unusual combination would be to spend 3 nights staying in a “floating lodge” at the luxurious Mandina Lodges – perfect for an romantic start to your honeymoon (the chef comes each day to discuss your evening meal and you can sit on your private deck watching the occasional fishermen pass in their dug-out canoes!) combine this with 11 nights at the 4* Kombo Beach, relatively quiet in May, with a number of bars and restaurants near the hotel.  The people are friendly and the beaches good.  The cost including flights, transfers, half board at the Mandina and bed & breakfast at the Kombo would be under £1000 each. (You would need to depart on a Tuesday for this holiday) For information on Romancing the East in Thailand or Red Sea Resorts in Egypt, please contact us. (Sue Richardson, Journeys a la Carte)
